All-Electric Car Fleet

We transitioned to an all-electric car fleet for our external sales team last year. This significantly reduced our carbon footprint, due to the sales team visiting customers and sites all over the country. Electric vehicles (EVs) are not only more efficient but also contribute to cleaner air and less environmental degradation compared to traditional internal combustion engine vehicles. Our office now has x6 charging points which are also available for customers and visitors to use to charge their vehicles. 

Green Energy 

As of 2023, both the Cirencester office and warehouse locations are now being supplied with renewable energy  This drastically reduces our dependence on fossil fuels, lowering our overall carbon footprint. 
The renewable electricity we receive is REGO verified – that’s Ofgem’s Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin. This ensures for every unit of power supplied, a generator produces an equivalent amount of green electricity.

Recycling Initiatives

We have implemented comprehensive recycling initiatives to minimize waste and reduce the amount of material sent to landfills. Our recycling initiatives include mixed recycling: cans, tins, soft and hard plastics, paper, plastic wrapping and card.                                                  

Our recycling efforts demonstrate our commitment to a circular economy, where materials are reused and repurposed rather than discarded; fostering environmental sustainability.

Food Waste Recycling

Addressing food waste is a critical component of our sustainability strategy. We have established food waste recycling programs to ensure that organic waste is diverted from landfills and instead processed into compost or bioenergy. This not only reduces methane emissions—a potent greenhouse gas—generated by decomposing food in landfills but also supports sustainable agriculture by providing nutrient-rich compost. Our food waste recycling efforts contribute towards our dedication to reducing waste and supporting sustainable food systems.

Sponsorship 

Our sponsorship of local sports teams and the Barn Theatre reflects our commitment to social sustainability and community engagement. By investing in community institutions, we support local culture, arts, and physical wellness, which are essential components of a vibrant, sustainable community. This sponsorship also fosters a sense of community and encourages sustainable practices in these organizations, promoting environmental awareness and social responsibility.

Energy Efficiency: Air Conditioning and Computer Use

We prioritize energy efficiency by implementing practices such as turning off air conditioning and computers when not in use. These simple yet effective measures significantly reduce energy consumption, lower operational costs, and decrease our overall environmental impact. 

EcoVadis Certification

Our commitment to sustainability is further validated by our EcoVadis certification, a globally recognized standard for assessing corporate social responsibility (CSR). Achieving this certification demonstrates our adherence to high standards in environmental management, labor practices, ethics, and sustainable procurement. This recognition not only enhances our credibility but also assures our stakeholders that we are continuously striving to improve our sustainability practices and meet international benchmarks.

Cardboard Shredder for Packaging

What’s next? We are currently in the process of buying a cardboard shredder to go in our warehouse. This will allow all the unused cardboard to be cut down and shredded, repurposed for packing to go in to future orders, reducing the amount of single use cardboard.
