What is a two-way valve?

A two-way solenoid valve is any type of solenoid actuated valve with two ports: an inlet and an outlet port. Popular across a wide variety of applications, two-way valve operation ranges from basic on/off to variable flow applications involving pumps and variable-frequency drives. Correct valve selection depends largely on the degree of control, amount of flow, shut-off and pressure drops involved – considerations that Bürkert’s technical advisers will be only too happy to discuss with you to ensure the perfect solenoid valve solution.

Two-way solenoid valve for water – Type 6281

The Type 6281 valve is a servo-assisted two-way solenoid valve from the S.EV series. Requiring a minimum pressure differential for the proper function of the valve, this solenoid valve for water applications is available with various diaphragm material combinations and methods of operation, depending on the application. The standard brass housing satisfies all European drinking water requirements, while dezincification-resistant brass and stainless steel versions are also available.

The solenoid coils of the Type 6281 are moulded with a chemically resistant epoxy and can be delivered with electronic power reduction for reduced energy requirements. This two-way water valve can be equipped with manual override for easy maintenance and commissioning. Plus, when combined with a plug (in accordance with DIN EN 17301-803 Form A) satisfy protection class IP65 – in combination with a stainless steel housing NEMA 4X.

Two-way solenoid valve for steam – Type 5404

The Type 5404 valve is a servo-assisted piston valve available in both NC and NO versions. This two-way solenoid valve for steam comes in a standard brass housing that satisfies all European drinking water requirements. The solenoid coils are moulded with high-quality polyamide and, for reduced energy requirements, all coils can be delivered with electronic power reduction. These solenoid valves for steam applications also satisfy protection class IP65 when combined with a plug.
