Solenoid valves for pneumatic applications

Whether you are looking for a solenoid valve for air, a solenoid valve for CO2 or a solenoid valve for compressed air; Bürkert has a full range of valves specifically designed for pneumatic applications. Here, we introduce you to some of our popular 3-, 4- and 5-way solenoid valve models for pneumatics.

What is a pneumatic solenoid valve?

A pneumatic solenoid valve is a type of electro-mechanical solenoid that, when activated, switches a spool under positive or negative air pressure. Bürkert solenoid valves have been the component of choice for many manufacturers over the years. With such a broad range of precision engineered solenoid valves for pneumatic applications available, featuring the highest quality materials and components, we are confident that we can provide the optimal solution.

Bürkert can offer the servo-assisted 3/2-way Type 6518 solenoid valve for pneumatics or our Type 6519 is available as a 5/2 or 5/3-way valve. The valves can be used individually or in blocks and work without a continuous air consumption for the pneumatic control of double or single-acting actuators.

Thanks to their high quality materials, these valves can be used in the open air and under chemical atmospheres. The line also contains units with Ex-Approvals and NAMUR flange interface.

Features and benefits of the Type 6518

  • High flow-rate capacity.
  • Reduced power consumption.
  • Single or manifold mounting.
  • Standard - EEx m and EEx i versions.
  • Threaded port G 1/4”.

The Type 5420 is a pilot-controlled 4-way seat valve with servo-diaphragms. This 4/2 solenoid valve for pneumatics requires a minimum differential pressure of 2.5 bar for switch-over and can be mounted on two channel manifolds with a common pressure supply.

Features and benefits of the Type 5420

  • Compact design.
  • Push-over solenoid coil.
  • Exhaust air can be regulated.
  • Tube, threaded and sub-base connections.
  • Servo-diaphragm seat discs.

The Type 6525 consists of a pilot flipper solenoid valve Type 6144 and a pneumatic seat valve. The flipper action system enables the switching of high pressures with low power consumption and short switching times. All of these types of solenoid valves for pneumatics are equipped with manual emergency actuation as standard.

Features and benefits of the Type 6525

  • Compact design.
  • Single and manifold mounting.
  • Low power consumption.
  • Fast response times.
  • Second connection shut-off function.
