Our guide to Bürkert NAMUR valves
NAMUR is an acronym for the User Association of Automation Technology in Process Industries, which provides an industry-wide standard for automated valve technology. Here, we outline some of the most innovative Bürkert NAMUR valves in our product range.
The NAMUR standard significantly reduces piping and bracket requirements when fitting directional control valves. As well as the inherent cost savings this entails, NAMUR connections enable users to match a range of operating environments, from intrinsically safe to normal non-hazardous conditions, using the same interface.
Definition of NAMUR as a specification for an intrinsically safe switching signal:
A NAMUR non-amplified sensor supplies two different signal levels, depending on the switch state. These signal levels are low-level current and provide an on-off indication. The nominal supply voltage level is 8.2VDC with 1K ohm resistance as the load.
Bürkert NAMUR valves
Our extensive range of Bürkert NAMUR valves has been developed to the highest standards. Here, we have compiled an overview of some of our most innovative NAMUR mounted valves and NAMUR valves, many of which are robust enough to withstand even the most aggressive media and operating environments.
Bürkert NAMUR mounted valve – Type 6519
The Type 6519 is a 5/2 or 5/3-way NAMUR mounted valve for mounting to the pilot air ports of Bürkertpneumatic on/off valves. With Ex-Approval and NAMUR flange interface models available, these valves work without a continuous air consumption and are primarily used for the pneumatic control of double or single-acting actuators. Thanks in large part to the high quality materials that we employ, the Bürkert Type 6519 is suitable for all Bürkertpneumatic actuators or third party actuators that have NAMUR mounting.
- Threaded port G 1/4” or NAMUR flange.
- High flow-rate capacity.
- Reduced power consumption.
- Standard-, EEx m and EEx i versions.
Bürkert NAMUR solenoid valve – Type 5282
(This image is only an example. Please be aware that the 5282 can be supplied in a number of different options which suit your needs).
The Type 5282 Bürkert valve is a servo-assisted diaphragm valve that requires a minimum differential pressure to function. Various diaphragm material combinations and methods of operation are available depending on the application. The standard brass housing satisfies all European drinking water requirements, with stainless steel and grey cast iron versions also available.
The 3/2-way pilot valve can be easily converted from NC to NO functioning principle by rotating it on the main seat. In combination with a plug, in accordance with DIN EN 17301-803 Form A, these valves satisfy protection class IP65 – in combination with a stainless steel housing NEMA 4X.
- Servo-assisted diaphragm.
- Diameter of up to DN 50.
- Separating diaphragm for aggressive media.
- Closing and opening times can be individually adjusted.
- Moulded housing with high surface quality.
- Service-friendly manual override.
- NAMUR intrinsically safe feedback switch (optional).
