How high pressure solenoid valves work

As trusted high pressure solenoid valve manufacturers, Bürkert has an enviable array of high pressure valves for industrial applications requiring close control in high pressure flow control conditions. Here, we give you a round-up of some of our most rugged and reliable high pressure solenoids.

High pressure solenoid valve applications

Opening and closing a valve always has a temporary dynamic effect on the pressure conditions within a control system. The level of the change in pressure amplitude depends, to a large degree, on the static system pressure, hydrostatic pressure, pipe diameter, temperature, mass of the medium and the opening and closing response of the valve. For high pressure applications, Bürkert has several high pressure solenoid options at your disposal.

High pressure solenoid valves are used for on/off (open or closed) operation and for diverting control of high pressure liquid and gas media automation systems. High pressure solenoid valve applications include refineries, processing systems, offshore oil and gas rigs, petrochemical systems and high pressure natural gas installations to name but a few.

Type 2400 High Pressure Solenoid Valve

The servo-assisted Type 2400 high pressure valve, featuring a servo-piston with a 2-way servo-control, is designed specifically for high pressure applications. The speciality of this valve design lies in the layout of the seat and sealing element. An additional radial seal ensures excellent sealing possible and the tapered sealing element of the servo control permits switching of high pressure at relatively low coil power.

Features and benefits of the Type 2400 high pressure solenoid valve

  • Push-over solenoid system.
  • Special versions, up to 250 bar, up to DN 12.
  • Stainless steel body.

Type 6027 High Pressure Solenoid Valve

The Type 6027 is a direct-acting plunger valve, featuring special seal technology for high-pressure applications. Comprising a stopper and plunger guide tube that are welded together to enhance pressure resistance and leak-tightness, various seal material combinations are available.

This high pressure solenoid also features coils that are moulded with chemically resistant epoxy. 'Kick and Drop' electronics are available for overexcitation, for the reduction of electrical power consumption during operation. An optional sliding ring bearing also increases the service life with dry gases.

Features and benefits of the Type 6027 high pressure solenoid valve

  • Direct-acting, powerful valve with diameter of up to DN 12.
  • Vibration-proof, bolted coil system.
  • Increased leak-tightness with welded plunger guide tube.
  • Explosion proof versions.
