Starting signal for Bürkert construction project in Gerabronn

Foundation stone laid for sustainable site conversion.
The symbolic laying of the foundation stone in Gerabronn on 4 November 2024 marked the official start of another Bürkert construction project in the region. Over the next two and a half years, three construction phases will result in an expanded assembly area for customer-specific systems, modernised solenoid valve production, increased storage capacity, more social areas and a new company restaurant for employees.

Mathias Fruth, Chairman of the Works Council, Carsten Böcking, Project Manager of the construction project in Gerabronn, Professor Dr Andreas Bürkert, Spokesman of the shareholders, Martin Wolfarth, Plant Manager Gerabronn, Ralf Ehrler, Managing Director of the construction company Stauch, Lorenz Kraft from the architectural firm Kraft & Kraft, Gerabronn's Mayor Christian Mauch as well as Georg Stawowy, CEO, and Stefan Müller, CTO (from left), at the symbolic laying of the foundation stone

Following initial earthworks in the autumn of this year, the third of a total of three construction projects in the region was officially launched at the beginning of November as the foundation stone was symbolically laid.

In addition to Andreas Bürkert, as spokesman for the shareholders, Bürkert was represented by CEO Georg Stawowy and other members of the management, the project team and the works council. The invited guests included Gerabronn’s mayor Christian Mauch, Marcus Nimrichter from the town planning office, employees from the construction company Stauch and the architectural firm Kraft & Kraft, engineers from Holzbau Amann GmbH and the structural engineering firm Pfahler + Schweizer PartG as well as representatives from the regional press.

Speeches by the Bürkert management and Mayor Christian Mauch were followed by a presentation by Fabian Lörch, project manager at Holzbau Amann, on the technical and architectural details of the sustainable construction project in Gerabronn. A time capsule was then buried in the ground for the symbolic laying of the foundation stone.

This time capsule serves as a basis, so work on the first construction phase will now continue and the project ‘Sustainable modernisation and expansion of the Bürkert plant in Gerabronn’ will officially begin. The construction measures will be realised during ongoing business operations – around two and a half years have been scheduled for the completion of all three construction phases.
