Bürkert expands team with new Account Manager for the Midlands
We’re excited to announce that Jason has joined us as our new Account Manager for the Midlands. Jason brings nearly 30 years of experience across various engineering disciplines.

Get to know a little bit about Jason here!
What drew you to this company/role?
Burkert have been on my career radar for years and the opportunity just never cropped up, ever since coming across Burkert ‘standard’ 3/2 valves when working for SMC in the late 90s’!
Can you share a little about your background and previous experience?
Huge background having spent all my career in an industrial environment after leaving the Navy/Mod
Graduated as a process engineer after completing a vocational degree while working full time for the MoD, somewhere in the mid-90s!
Have worked my way mainly in fluid power manufacturers, through applications engineer to various sales roles mainly with ‘blue chip’ manufacturers all with a special niche offer to the industries they serve
Started in hydraulics (Sauer-Danfoss), moved to pneumatics (SMC, Numatics) and also linear actuators (Origa) and then on to the niche world of vacuum (Piab).
My career forked at that point as Piab (vacuum solutions) had a product for transferring bulk materials such as; powders, granules, grain, etc
I became product manager for vacuum conveyors at Piab which developed into running my own ltd company for a number of years solving bulk handling projects by providing equipment solutions.
Recent personal changes forced me to review my whole life and all aspects including my career path and personal life and eventually led to an opportunity with Burkert .
What’s one thing about yourself that you’d like your new colleagues to know?
That I am resilient to what life throws at us all and on a lighter note – I owned a vinyl record store and also had an indie record label.
What’s your favourite way to unwind after a busy day?
A long dog walk in the lighter months and an evening out watching live bands anytime.
Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies you’d like to share with us?
Not sure if I can class as talent, I don’t have that ego, but I play bass guitar, been in numerous bands and am okay on the guitar too. I have also built a few solid body electric guitars and considered it as a business proposition at one point.
If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go and why?
Canada – Specifically Ottowa region – For the people, the culture and my brother and his Canadian wife live there.
We’re confident that Jason’s vast expertise and enthusiasm will be a huge asset to our team, and we look forward to the impact he’ll make as we continue to grow and achieve our goals together in the Midlands area. We wish Jason the best of luck and happiness in his new role!
