Bürkert UK raise over £400 for The Churn's Families Matter Group
Back in December we decided to give something to the community and raise funds for The Churn Project in Cirencester through a Curry Cook Off Night! With a successful turn out we raised over £400 for the charity.
The Churn Project are a Cirencester based charity who help support vulnerable and marginalised people across the community through a range of different approaches. The charity helps people feel less isolated and also improves their general wellbeing. They work with people who may be lonely and at a point of transition or crisis in their lives, or going through mental health issues. The Churn Project helps people through challenging points in their life.
At Bürkert we felt a local charity like this would be great to support and raise funds for, hence our Curry Cook Off Night.
The night involved a selection of over 10 different curry's, from Railway Mutton Curry to Fiery Beef and Beer curry, accompanied by delicious sides of giant onion bhajis, chutneys and pickles. We also got in the festive spirit by wearing our Christmassy themed outfits and accessories. A fun night had by all, it was safe to say we were all well fed and very full!
Most importantly, we all dug deep into our pockets and raised a wonderful £426.11 for the well-deserved Churn Project. At The Churn Project they have a delightful choice of classes and groups to attend, one being their Families Matter Group. This is a chance for parents to bring their young children together to play in and informal and friendly place; both the parents and children can socialise and get to know each other. Our money has paid for brand new exciting toys for the children to enjoy and play with!
At Bürkert, we are all so pleased to see how our money has made a difference to some of the local children.
