Popular BBC science show Bang Goes the Theory is designed to stimulate interest in technology and engineering, the show's tag line is to 'Discover and challenge the scientific principles that shape your world'. In order to do this they recently chose to test if the childhood story of someone being pushed all the way up and over 360 degrees on a park swing was possible, or an urban myth. Helping to make the water powered jet pack work reliably in the experiment was a crucial piece of technology from solenoid valve specialist Bürkert.
March 19, 2013, Compact valves with a high flow rate and power density: Bürkert standard valve line now features more flexibility
With the TwinPower technology the fluid technology specialist Bürkert has developed a new actuator design for solenoid valves that increases the power density by using two coils. This innovative actuator technology, which allows a very compact design, is now available as a complete standard valve line in widths of 10mm and 16mm, therefore offering more than 1000 possible variants for each width with optimal flexibility in adapting the valves to specific applications. more
In 2013, Bürkert UK hosted the official opening of its new HQ to celebrate the successful move into its new, purpose-built premises constructed around a modern factory building in Cirencester.
Throughout the day Bürkert opened its doors to customers, distributors, members of the press, the local mayor and even Moto GP rider, Danny Kent.
Bürkert's new micro dosing unit Type 7615 - a high-precision diaphragm pump for exact dosing of liquids in the µl range - is the fluid technology specialist's latest addition to its product portfolio for analytical, bio-medical and medical applications. The micro dosing unit, comprising of three valves, doses 5 µl in one stroke with a accuracy of +/- 2%. The maximum flow rate is 8 ml/min in both directions.
