Bürkert takes over Robolux

Bürkert Fluid Control Systems has taken over Swedish valve producer Robolux AB. Robolux's activities - still under the Robolux name and its RoboValve brand - will be managed in the newly established subsidiary of Bürkert Biotech GmbH. The Bürkert Group will thus be strengthening its position in robust growing industries - all the more so since: Robolux is the leading manufacturer of multi-way, multiple-connection diaphragm valves with minimum internal volumes for special applications, for example in the pharmaceuticals, chemicals and photographic industries.
Three years ago Bürkert had agreed on co-operation with Robolux, which involved Bürkert taking on the marketing of RoboValve diaphragm valves across Germany. Now all Robolux activities are combined under the umbrella of the Bürkert Group.

Heribert Rohrbeck, the Bürkert Managing Director, is happy with the outcome: "We have made a significant addition to our range of products and systems particularly in the robust growing pharmaceuticals, bio-technology and water treatment fields." Mike Rodd, General Manager of Buerkert Great Britain, who is monitoring the integration of the Robolux range of work & services into the Bürkert Group, had this to say: "This acquisition provides us with a unique, patented multiport-valve for integration into our existing production portfolio. It will provide our customers with efficient process and system solutions."

Robolux is also aware of the merger's benefits. " We are glad to be part of an organisation that is in a position to fully realise the potential of the Robolux design," said Bengt Sahlin, the Robolux Managing Director. "In particular that means: uniting two shutoff valves in one housing." They would now be able to tap new international markets and target the development of new applications in, for instance, the food and beverages industry.

RoboValves - Edelstahlventile für sterile Anwendungen

RoboValves were designed for special uses such as sterile applications in filtration or chromatography. They operate pneumatically or by manual control. Their special design with just one valve housing saves on T-pieces and welds, thereby reducing the number of required valves and diaphragms, along with the process duration. With this valve system, Bürkert has succeeded in concentrating various valve functions within a small space.

Technical data:
